Jonathan, thank you so much for sharing this. Sorry for your experience; Tell us how it comes out. I reviewed and found 4 of these „pre-approved payments,” including eBay shipping and eBay selling fees. None of them had been used for years. I cancelled all four. The eBay selling fee listing was the only one with a „billing limit” – -$300,000.00 (per month)! I googled this issue after discovering SEVERAL recurring payments PayPal I hadn`t set up from Google, and a few others that weren`t currently billed but shouldn`t have been there. I have no idea how these companies have gained access and suspect sneaky sales based on fine print stuffed into a joint user agreement. Be wary of where you click – and check your PayPal pre-approved or automatic payments! Godaddy withdrew money from my account today – I don`t like it. I have terminated the „Contract”. Thanks for the article, very useful!!! Sure, there are good reasons to allow PayPal billing agreement, but there are times when they can also be a nightmare. The strange thing is that when I log in, PayPal Sony is always listed there under my payment agreements. The payment was sent under a billing contract and is considered an authorized payment. We have issued a refund of the payment.
If this payment was sent with your debit or credit card, the refund will be credited to that card. If your bank account or PayPal account balance has been used, the payment will be refunded to your PayPal balance. I started looking for information on how to cancel the billing contract because I used my PayPal account to pay for 1 year of hosting for a friend on GoDaddy, and then I realized that I had a billing agreement, which means that even if my friend cancels the auto-renewal, I can still use my PayPal account for express payment, when it renews or pays for other services on GoDaddy.
